The district has been working on establishing district level SMART Goals.  SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time Bound.  The process for developing SMART goals consists of listening to the stakeholders of the district and looking at the data of the district.  SMART goals are approved by the board and contain a measurable component and also a time frame where progress and completion of the goal are reported to the board at a meeting of the board.  These goals are a commitment of the board, based upon stakeholder input and data, for the direction of the district.  These goals are designed to be reviewed and updated on a regular basis.  We have conducted Focus Group discussions, which were a series of stakeholder interviews by the entire staff as well as a number of patrons in the district.  During the December and January Board of Education meetings the board of education will be reviewing the feedback from the Focus Group discussions and begin forming District Level SMART Goals.  Those with an interest in the discussion regarding the SMART Goals are encouraged to attend the upcoming board meetings.  We will share these goals with the staff and patrons once established.  The staff, administration and board of education is committed to providing the best possible education for all students at Salisbury R-IV.  We greatly appreciate the input and stakeholders as we work to provide the best education possible for the students of the district.
