Salisbury FTA Attends State FTA Convention

Students from across the state met in Columbia, Missouri, today for the Future Teachers of America (FTA) state leadership meeting.  The theme for the meeting was “Teachers Inspire.”

Scott Smith, MSTA Staff Attorney presented a keynote for the students “How to be Smart about Social Media.”

“FTA is an excellent way for high school students to explore careers in education,” said Krista Meyer, MSTA Director Student Groups.  “If anyone needs optimism about the future of teaching, watching the kids at the FTA meeting would provide it.”

The Missouri State Teachers Association is the leading education association in the state celebrating 162 years of service to Missouri educators and with over 46,000 members.  MSTA headquarters is in Columbia, Missouri.

Junior Quinley Fawks was selected as one of four statewide officer ambassadors at the meeting.  State ambassadors are responsible for planning and officiating the 2019 state FTA meeting, as well as keeping the FTA Facebook page up-to-date with activities, service project events and fundraisers.
