All Kids Bike

Dear Valued Community Member,

I would like to take a moment of your time to introduce you to All Kids Bike, led by the Strider Education Foundation, a non-profit organization that is on a mission to improve the lives of children by teaching them to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class. This program places Kindergarten PE Learn-to-Ride Programs into schools with donations and partnerships from individuals, businesses, and organizations. Did you know that kids spend an average of over 7 hours per day on screen time and the rate of childhood obesity among kids ages 2 to 19 increased to a record level of 22.4% in 2020? Now more than ever, it is crucial for kids to start on the path of a healthy lifestyle. The ability to ride a bike develops physical, social, and mental wellbeing.

Salisbury Elementary School has the incredible opportunity to bring a Learn-To-Ride Bike Program to our Kindergarten & 1st Grade PE classrooms, to get our students on two wheels!

Salisbury Elementary is projecting around 30-35 Kindergarten students next year. With about that many students in 1st Grade as well that means approximately 70 kids will learn to ride a two-wheel bike next year alone, with the potential to reach 175-250 students in the next five years! This program has the potential to improve our community’s health, academic achievement and so much more!

To implement this program in our school, we need support! The All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Program costs $6,000.00. Your gift would mean so much to us, but it would mean even more to the little kiddos who will receive everything needed to learn to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class. The full program price includes a fleet of (24) balance-to-pedal bikes, pedal conversion kits, fully adjustable helmets, one teacher instruction bike, and an 8-lesson Learn-to-Ride Curriculum aligned to SHAPE America National PE standards. The bikes are for the school to keep and meant to last at least 7-10 years, teaching hundreds of future kindergarten students to ride.

We will have a series of fundraising efforts that our community can participate in.  We’re hoping you might be willing to collaborate with us in our fundraising efforts.

Thank you for supporting your community, and our school, to introduce kids to health and happiness on two wheels!
