Yearbook

The SHS 2020-21 Yearbook was selected as an excellent example of creativity and journalistic excellence by Walsworth Publishing Company.  Walsworth Sales Rep, Shelley Mosley, presented the staff with this award on Thursday, April 30. The SHS yearbook is featured in the Possibilities book printed by Walsworth. Possibilities is a 352-page inspiration and premiere idea book with hand-selected examples of exceptional theme, covers, photography, and design from only 342 school out of the thousands of yearbooks Walsworth prints. The Possibilities book is printed for yearbook staffs around the country to use for idea generation for their own yearbooks. The SHS photo featured in the book was taken by Addison Hammons. Addison Hammons was a Photography Editor for the 2020-21 yearbook, with Kjirsten Guilford serving as Editor. Addison is now serving as the editor for our 2021-22 yearbook.

Along with being featured in the book, the SHS staff was presented with a complimentary copy of the Possibilities book, and banner to hang in the school to recognize their excellent work, and a letter from Don Walsworth, President of Walsworth Publishing.

Advisor Stephanie Gladbach said, "It has always been a goal of mine for our yearbook to be selected for this book. Our presence in the book might be small, but out of the thousands of yearbooks printed by Walsworth, we were noticed. Now that we've caught their eye, the goal will be to gain an even bigger presence in the next publication of this book. I'm always very proud of my yearbook staffs, and the work and effort they put in. I hope they realize the magnitude of this recognition and remember my screaming excitement when our sales rep presented this to us. Small schools can do big things."
