Last week, the Salisbury FFA Chapter hosted its annual Food for America Day, an event designed to connect elementary students with the many facets of agriculture that shape their everyday lives. From cattle and bees to an ATV, a John Deere 9RX tractor, Case IH Combine, power tools, and even a cow-milking simulation, chapter members and community partners showcased livestock, equipment, and demonstrations highlighting the importance of agriculture. Thanks to a grant from BTC Bank, this year’s program offered hands-on learning opportunities for every 4th–6th grade student. Participants built birdhouses, propagated succulents, or constructed marshmallow launchers from PVC pipe, activities that combined creativity with agricultural education. The chapter expressed pride in its members for their dedication to teaching younger students and gratitude for the strong support received from the community, especially BTC Bank.
